Clear Downed Trees at Heath Hen Meadow
Those March snowstorms have dropped a lot of trees and branches in Acton. Please join me on Sunday April 8 at 2PM for a volunteer cleanup work party at Heath Hen Meadow Conservation Land. Hack that Knotweed!
Release your inner assassin! Help the LSC and volunteers from the New England Aquarium destroy the Japanese Knotweed growing at the Acton Canoe Launch. We will meet 10AM to 1PM on Saturday June 23, before the heat of the day. Knotweed is too hard to kill, so our control plan is: Chop it several times a year, db with herbicide, and encourage other native plants so they will shade it out. Meadow Brush Clearing
Please join the Acton Land Stewards on Sunday September 9, 2018 10AM to 1PM as we defend one of our meadows against forest succession. We want to do this before the town does it's annual fall mowing. Tasks include: Hauling brush and logs out of the meadow; Cutting down small trees which the mower can not reach; Removing rocks which have rolled off the stone walls into the meadow; and Chainsawing to clear big downed trees.
