OARS’ 30th Annual River Cleanup
OARS’ 30th Annual River Cleanup will be on Saturday, September 17 at 9:00 a.m. Volunteer to come out to clean up the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers! Hundreds of tires, bed frames, computers, TVs, a transmission, bicycles and more were piled high by the end of the morning. This year volunteers will again work along all three rivers. Plant Milkweed at Canoe Launch
Please help the Monarchs recover by planting a patch of Common Milkweed and Butterflyweed at the Acton Canoe Launch. We will be digging out the invasive plants in our patch and bringing in some loam and compost before planting seed from these two native milkweeds. There will probably be a lot of rocks to remove also. Please bring work gloves, shovel, and drinking water, and contact me so I know how many volunteers to expect.

Please join us on Saturday December 17 at 10AM for a work party to pull out and kill Garlic Mustard on one of our conservation parcels. This is the perfect time of year to do this, because Garlic Mustard stays green all winter, so it is easy to spot. After 3 days in the 50s, and today in the 40s, the ground has completely thawed in the woods near me in South Acton.
